One time when I was in Junior High School I had an intense crush on a guy, I was all of 13 and he was 17. I had met him when I went to my best friends church. He had a girlfriend and they got engaged. Then he enlisted in the army.
He always treated me a like a younger sister and wrote me letters every week. I got over my crush after awhile. It was wonderful having him for a friend! He gave me plenty of good advice. He died in VietNam. I still miss him and think of him often.
As for having a crush on someone, who was bad for me I normally relied upon my senses to guide me. Except for one time. I allowed my gilfriends to influence me about going out with an upper classman. They thougt he was nice and they said that he really liked me. I went out with him and even decided to go steady with him against my better judgement.
He had a cruel masochistic/sadistic streak which revealed itself to me. When we broke up it was without regrets. I learned much about myself from the experience.

I did very recently, and the jerk was so self-absorbed he wouldn't even talk to me because of some little bump on his chin that he thought I would judge him for... He was a caliboy wanna be and i just quit talking to him.

I was good friends with one guy at my work. Then, one day he became a cocky jerk that decided he no longer needed me. I tried a few times to win him back, but eventually realized I was much too sharp-witted for him. It doesn't bother me anymore.
