I'm going to New York with my Boyfriend and his family, my mom wont sign for me to have a credit card, and I only have about $100 towards the trip. Were going for a week, and It's been made very clear that I have to help with gas and hotels. Thats all my $$ right there! Does anyone know where a 17 year old can get a credicard in less than a week, cause I know I cant get the cash?

Also, I do have a job, I dont make enough to cover everything, and this is the first chance I have had to be free of that burden since my father died. My mom is not working at the moment and, amazing! a teen thats responsible! I pay for my phone, credit card that I cancelled, and for my own food, gas, etc. I think I'm a little more responsible than the 17 year old that you are thinking I am.

Also, I have been looking for a 2nd job, but in Florida, during the summer, thats kind of hard to find... the reason I havent been able to save much is because I do pay my own bills and working in a resturant, again, in florida during the summer, isnt the best.

Hopefully you can't without your parents consent. Getting into debt for a vacation when you probably knew about this trip for weeks and only saved $100 means you will have trouble paying off the debt. If you don't earn the money this week and are then on vacation how will you get the money to pay the debt? Simply tell them you can't afford to go, you won't end up with debt and you can start saving for your future with your $100.

You have to be 18 years old to open a credit account. You also have to have a job. I'm sorry you missed your prom. I think you are going to have to wait until you pass another birthday to get any kind of credit at all unless your parents will co-sign for you.

start working, because if you get a credit card that early in life and you have no way of paying for it. it can really harm your credit, so be careful, that happend to my sis and she cant even get a car, because her credit is shot.you can get a debit card, and put money on it, and use it like credit. then you dont have to worry about your credit, but you need a bank account. well i hope i helped.. best wishes!

I believe you are out of luck. No 17 yr. old needs a credit card. Better to be honest, and tell them what you do have.
