My three favorite presidents would be Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt, and John F. Kennedy. All three were stirring orators, great leaders, charismatic, wise, and both faced seemingly insurmountable odds when they became presidents. Lincoln, of course, faced an oncoming civil war; Roosevelt had to deal with the Depression and WWII, Kennedy had the Cuban Missile crisis, Berlin Wall, the beginning of Vietnam, Civil Rights, and nuclear atmospheric testing that was getting way out of hand. All died in office. But all stood their grounds in a beautiful manner, with dignity, honor, courage, and with a deep, abiding love for this country, and for peace in their times.
