I'm beginning student teaching tomorrow, which is the final segment of my education program in becoming a high school teacher.

So for the next 8 weeks starting tomorrow, I will teach probably 150 students in 5 classes, 5 days a week, for a net income of $0. That's right. I'm working for free. That's the cost of getting a master's degree and a California teaching credential. In fact, I have to pay my school $1500 for the accompanying class that goes with it.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to buy some top ramen and roll some pennies for gasoline! ;)

It's the summer before my junior year, and I am lifeguarding. I am also helping my dad and uncle fix up my 1967 Mustang Convertible that we just bought.
