I keep getting 3 as my answer. Anyone know how to work this problem?

Are u having Clarke's tables where u can look for cot theta .cot theta is reciprocal of tan theta so look in tan table u will get the answer the answer is 60

"cot" gives the ratio of two sides, not the degree measure.
cot(arctan 1/3) = 3
cot-1(sqrt3) = 30 degrees, "-1" stands for the inverse function.

I think you are correct.

arctan(1/3) = θ
tanθ = 1/3

cotθ = 1/tanθ = 1/(1/3) = 3
arccot(3) = θ

cot[arctan(1/3)] = cot[arccot(3)] = 3
