it means it'll keep that topic on the front page instead of getting lost into millions of pages
so if it just says "bump" then some one was "bumping it back to up"
on most forums, if you leave a comment on somthing it'll put it on the first page even if when you found it it was on say page 2000 out of 6000 it'll get put right back to page 1

Some message boards show the most recent threads (questions). So when they fall down the list without getting any responses, people who are following the thread want to bring it back to the top to get others' attention.

They could post anything to do so, but "BUMP" is common to mean "bumping it back to the top".

Hi,

Bump is just a word posters like to use to make their post go up in topic list. So if your topic was all the way at the bottom of the topic list, you can type any word to make your topic to go back on top of the topic list. And the most common word ppl use is Bump.

Bump means the poster is trying to 'bump' the topic higher up on the forum list. People post bump to prevent the topic from being pushed further behind.

People do it to keep the post relevant timewise.

Some message boards organize the posts by the time they were last posted to. This is a method to keep that particular post on the front page.

Hope this helps!

Bring
Up
My
Post

It is an acronym. In forums and such it makes a thread go to the top of the page.
