Yes, McCain is finished. We can no longer tolerate a "tax and spend" president that can't be productive in the government services provided. That is an old way of doing business in the international community and can't be tolerated by the citizens here in America. If he squandered 20 million dollars thus far in his campaign he is wasteful and his political strategists failed to "read" the political goals the American people want and deserve. If he is a crook now, what do you think his appointees would be???

This is John McCain's last go around. He will be over 70 by the time the 2008 election will come around. The American people don't seem ready to accept him for 2008, and they will not elect somebody for the first time who will be 75 or so.
John MCain has two million dollars in the bank, an amount less than the libertarian-oriented Republican Ron Paul. He has alienated just about every constituency imaginable. Certainly, he has upset conservatives with his stand on illegal immigration. No matter how much he tries to spin it in his favor, conservatives generally view his stand as one of favoring amnesty--a policy they totally abhor
Liberals and independents are disgusted with John McCain's support for the president in the war in Iraq---a policy that seems to be going no where fast according to critics with its high amount of casualties, a great deal of money spent with no strategic plan really in place. The media has generally been unfavorable this time around, seeing in McCain somebody who no longer appears to be the straight shooter he was in 2000.
McCain is most assuredly through as evidenced by the laying off of much of his staff due to money problems that will inevitably increase as potential backers will be loathe to back a loser in the near future. But, I think he is too stubborn to realize this. Determination is a good attribute, but failing to read the handwriting on the wall is not a characteristic we need at this (or any other) juncture. It leads to woodenheadedness and obstinacy.

McCain took on one lost cause too many. You can't win an election going against what the public wants. He wants more war in Iraq. He wanted the doomed amnesty bill. Etc. Just too many lost causes.
I respect him and his opinions, but he is wrong on Iraq and the amnesty bill. At least whatever he did as president he would have done what he considered the right thing and for the good of the country. But that ship has sailed, and he missed it.
This was his last shot. He is 70 so he will be way too old to run again in 2008.

McCain is ruined by his backing of the Iraqi War, Bush's surge campaign, which is not working, and he now finds himself stuck in the corner of a very unpopular president and administration. He's viewed now as the establishment candidate. During unpopular times, the brunt of negativity will fall on him and will make his campaign lose supporters, even amongst the GOP. Four years ago, he was considered an outsider of sorts and a maverick. The luster is gone now because of his support of GWB.

John McCain is a RINO, republican in name only. He does not have the guts nor the will to stand on his own two feet as a conservative. Instead he sold out to the democrats and has turned into a weak-kneed republicat. Poor John, he was once a great soldier, now he can retire a beaten man.

LOL
McCain done? Not Yet
LOL
He will wait till the primaries are over before making any decision. If he wins the primaries the other candidates (except for ron paul) will throw their support behind him. This will give him the monetary boost he will need to ride out the campaign to the end.
If he looses the primary it wont matter.
What would be nice is if all the candidates continue to spend their moneis at the same reckless pace they are now - then only ONE candidate will be able to survive the on slaught
McCain's problem, along with all the other candidates, is that they are NOT grass roots candidates. ONLY ron paul is. So they all spend their monies in the traditional way while ron paul doesnt spend any of his campaign funds...LOL...gotta love it
Ron is getting free advertisement by his grass roots supporters who pay for everything out of their own pocket. They pay for business cards they hand out, they pay for the planes they have flying around, they pay for the events they hold on their own, they just pool the money locally for whatever they need and pay for it themselves.....this saves ron pauls campaign from doing it
What is good about this is that NONE of this needs to be reported as campaign finances or anything like that because ron pauls campaign isnt doing it....LOL...what a way to beat the new campaign laws...LOL...I want to see them try to stop a private person from spending his private money on his own private advertisement - LOL

JOHN McCAIN IS A TRAITOR. This is a man who was held captive in Vietnam, and he supports the war effort in Iraq???? The Viet-Cong should have killed him, he is a worthless asskisser. His actions today make me wonder just how he survived Vietnam....how many did he roll over on, who did he betray to survive??? He has NO problem doing so now. What a sycophant!!! I wonder if he knows the Vietnamese for " me wanna phukky-sukky" and "I love you long time"

McCain was a liar when he got released from captivity. He sold out his comrad that died in captivity. I don't trust this man, and never will. Not surprised that he is losing his support, it is about time.

KO'd??? He shot himself in the foot so many times in this campaign its a wonder he hasnt completely bled to death yet. (Politically speaking)
His "campaign" has been one huge self-destruction-fest from day one.
For the life of me I cant understand why he even bothered to run.
