im trying out for drill team and i need to learn a backwards somersault. and when i do it i have to land on my stomach.

Start on a king sized bed.(If your under 5 feet or you might hurt yourself if it's near a wall)Then you turn around on one end of the bed.Next put your hands about 4 inches straight behind your back.Now use your feet to jump back.

I was on a gymnastics team for year and the goal of a summy was to land on your feet not your belly but I will try to help anyway.

Start with a back walkover. When you get that down do it faster and faster. You will develop that into a summy. It kind of happens naturally.
