The issue is a presidential commuting of Libby's two year prison sentence. The Bush administration claims the Clintons have no right to criticize GWB's actions because Clinton pardoned over 300 on his last day in office. That is standard fare for any president to do. But, this will set a legal presendence on future administrations when they have an actual lawbreaker who actually worked for the president or vice-president. Even Nixon didn't pardon his own White House staff during Watergate. The media has nothing to do with this except for printing the story.

The truth, in case anyone inside the Beltway is interested in such things, is that the leakers of Plame’s name were, in fact, former Undersecretary of State Richard Armatage and Plame’s own husband. Libby was simply a scapegoat for an overzealous special prosecutor. How surreal it must have seemed to Libby to sit in that kangaroo court while Bill Clinton’s former national security advisor was receiving a slap on the wrist for stealing top secret documents from the National Archives!
The stupidity and double standard is amazing. Any Senator who voted not guilty on Clinton has no say in this matter because they have shown perjury is OK by them. They all need to get back to work and stop playing games.

Most loose talk and opinions are started by reporters and believed by us. I think most of our problems are made bigger by the media.
