Well your friends are wrong, you're not old fashioned just because you listen to Elvis Presley! I'm 44 and I've been listen to Elvis since I was knee high to a grasshopper (which basically is the same height I am now, what's wrong with that picture?) and his music, his style was the absolute best during his time and during current times! Look at the movie Lilo and Stitch, Stitch loved Elvis and there were Elvis songs in the movie. Does that make the movie old fashioned? No it doesn't. It just means that you have great taste in music and in this day and age you can listen to whatever and whomever you want.

I also listen to Hank Williams, Sr., Merle Haggard and Mel Tillis but that doesn't make me old fashioned. And at the same time I listen to Gwen Stefani and Akon (just saw the in concert a few weeks ago), and in 1 month I'm going to see (now no laughing), Rick Springfield. I also enjoy classical music.

Music is an individual taste and style, and everyone likes different things, different musics, etc. That's what make this world we live in so great......diversity!

Do you have a favorite Elvis song? Mine is Are You Lonesome Tonight, and one that just slipped my mine (and now it's going to buck me until I remember it. Dang!).

Enjoy listening and appreciating Elvis' music!

If you enjoy listening to Elvis Presley who cares what they say? Listen to what you like.

Music should not belong to any period .If you like a particular style or singer than that is all that matters.I can't be bothered with to-days pop offerings as they all sound terrible (to me)
I mostly like instrumental music of evergreen songs that are played well.I never much cared for the Beatles singing their own songs but i like good instrumental versions of some of their best arrangements. And i agree Elvis was one of a kind .He could sing a wide range of musical styles .

who cares what your friends think? I am sure they like things that you don't. It is our differences that separate us and our acceptance of differences brings us back together.
I myself LOVE Elvis. He has credit for inventing "Rock and Roll" right? With out him it may still have been done but it may have been done differently.
There is nothing wrong with liking the classics. Be proud of it.

Your friends are well... musically uneducated!

By listening to those that shaped our musical world of today you are opening yourself up to sooo much more... Don't listen to your friends.. Listen to what works for YOU.....

and please remind them... Elvis IS the KING of rock-n-roll... with out him... with out Elvis "the pelvis" Presely.... what other muscial icon's would we have missed out on?
