But a second cousin would be the cousin of one of your parents or, like you said, your cousins son

Second cousins (or cousins once removed) could be your cousin's children, or your parent's cousin. Both would be considered "once removed".
But for the child's sake just call them by their name.

your cousin's cousin is your second cousin. if you have a cousin by marriage, and the people married get divorced.. then your cousin is removed.. make sense?

i was told that it was ur cusins child (therefore making once remove the next generation, and twice removed the second generation) but im totally not sure!
