I'm usually shooting guard, and I know for a fact that ball handling skills are important in this position. You really need to know the basics. When you dribble, make sure that your finger tips are the only things touching the ball. This is very important. Do not let the ball go up too high. Bounce it only up to your waist. Don't have the ball too far from you either. That is a clear indicator for an opposing player to steal the ball from you. When you practice, make sure that you are comfortable and somewhat good at dribbling the ball with both your power and weaker hand. You always have to protect the ball. The ball is THE most important thing out there on that court, and if it is not in your team's possession, it calls for hard times. Switch hands while in a game, and know how to get passed a player. I'm sure that your coach will go over certain techniques that show you that.
Do a lot of dribbling drills like dribbling figure 8's. Practice a lot. You could either practice on your own or with a couple of your friends.
Anyway, good luck!!!

You should practice against your friends and you have to practice your dribbles non-stop to be good at dribbling and if you have any friends that are good at dribbling ask them for help and you should ask your coach for help if you need it in dribbling

you gotta start out dribling with one hand.......after you gotta run at the jym and take your ball go from one side of the court the the other anf dunk it or lay it up. do the same thing but switch your hands. after close ur eyes one arm behind the back and drible one hand. then after go to the jym hire a person to guard you. try to cross him up.........if it doesnt work just back down on him when you do that both of his hand might be up high or half way during that go to the lef or the right and go under his arm. then lay it up or dunk it. after just close your eyes then use both hands and do crossovers slowly after go faster if your doing good then go faster and so on till u mess up then after at your basketball game if you have a fast break dribling both hands becasue somebody might steal the ball then dunk or layup. remember if you havea normal speed offence run the if you cant cross him up back down and go under his arm. if there is another person if u se somebody in the key you should pass it to him or to a person open at 3pt. remember try to get at least 6 ast. and atleast 8 points. i would try to score first but if hes open go ahead give him the ball. goooooooooooood luck! (following these rules i was a point guard and won the finals thats how i got my name "NC baller" "NC" are my anesals) do good my friend
