Yup, 9-1-1 is the safest route to go. There could be something burning inside the walls, you never know. Get out of the house and call the fire department.
Good luck!

That's a hard question to answer. There could actually be a fire inside one of the walls of your house or in the attic. If you think that might be the case check the walls and ceilings for hot spots. Possibility number two is that people with brain tumors often report smelling smells that don't exist so you might want to see a doctor. There is also the possibility that although this is a very serious category that you are typical of all the slightly warped but wonder full people here and are just asking a silly question, or giving away "easy points.".. There is also the possibility that... Aw the heck with it to be safe just RUN !!!...If you got a laptop grab it. We are all concerned and in suspense now. Please do keep us informed.

Is a window open? Sometimes I smell a fire but it's coming from outside. Check your pilot lights to see if they're lit or if it's just gas coming out. Make sure your smoke detectors are operating correctly. You can always contact a professional for more sound advice that will help you sleep easy at night. If you have kids, call someone already!

Try going outside and walking around real quick to see if the smell is outside and what side of the house it is on. If the smell is much stronger in your home, I would call the fire department.

Cana you smell it outside? Maybe someone is burning wood in a bonfire or fireplace and the smoke is coming into your windows. I hope that all it is , if you cannot find a source I would definitely call 911 if you smell it outside cuz maybe someone 's house is oon fire and they are not at home...who knows...

Any fire alarms in your house? Are you neighbor's houses burning? Did someone leave a cigarette lit? Is there a fire in your backyard?
