Being afraid when you are about to be punished is not the same as being afraid. I was afraid of my mom when i did something really really bad. Not often, but when i really teed her off, she would swat me with a piece of track from my hot wheels car set.

And be clear, there was no brutality here. My parents were both great and loving people. It is possible to love and still give a swat.

I was thinking of this the other day. I always got an anxious feeling when I heard a truck with those noisy big lugged tires slowing down to a stop. I thought this Doppler affect had something to do with a car accident I was in when I was a kid but now I realize that it was the sound of my dad coming home from work. An audible announcement that the fun time was over.

i wasnt really scared of my mom but i was sooo scared of her long time boyfriend who was a mean perv... he once slapped my sister across the face for not having a bra on outside on the porch....she was 12. He threw me up against a wall and held me there by the throat for hitting him back after he twisted my wrist. As I got older I realized that he was a pathetic alcoholic who had no control over his own sad life so tried to exert control over my mom, my sisters and I. He's now homeless and alone having alienated everyone who ever cared about him. Alcohol is his family now. Sad.

My mum became/is my maximum suitable chum. She has continuously spoken to me + my siblings and as given us suggestion. making particular we've self belief we are able to do something if we placed our minds too it. i think of that its via this we've became out the way we've..Im 19 now + examining regulation & criminology.. my sisters preparation to become a common practitioner and my mums at college alongside us examining midwifrey. no longer undesirable thinking we grew up on a council property as a one make certain relatives claiming advantages. My mum has by no ability predicted us to do something she does not do. Hense..her going to college first to coach that it incredibly is accomplished and so as that she will grant us an more advantageous existence too. She does not elect us to stay like she did in a council homestead with a violent companion and infant on the age of in basic terms 18. So with the help of explaining this to us + with the help of telling us the way it made her experience..its made us elect to do properly and recognize we want an more advantageous existence for our own infants.

Yes I was scared of my dad when I was very small, he was so strict and used to chase me around the room with the strap. My mom was great though.

My brothers and I were brought up by our mom and her parents. They never had to hit us, we adored them and had the utmost respect for them. Our biggest fear was the idea that we would do something to make them disappointed in us. There have been some tough times in life, but in this area we were truly blessed.

Never, that was the beauty of my childhood, I never feared my parents. No child should ever have to grow up like that.
