I think Bill Richardson is the only one who's electable in the general election. This party is far to the left of America.

Elway - I don't think Hillary is "moderate". I think she plays at being moderate, but that she's really quite radical in her thinking. When she gets power, she may show us a different side.

Bush, Clinton, Reagan, Carter, 4 out of 5 of our last presidents were former governors! Who is the only governor on the Dems' side?

Well, I am having a hard time trying to decide what republican I would vote for in the primary, let alone the general election. I think that President Bush has made enough Americans mad, that there in no way a Republican could win the White House in 2008. The only way that the Democrats won't win is if they don't run anyone. I am a republican, I have supported Bush, and I look at all of the canidates on both sides and I AM SCARED TO DEATH. I wish we could get a normal person elected, one that can relate to the Average Joe and cares about us instead of Party Politics. This shouldn't be this side and that side, it should be "US". I wish they would all quit bashing each other and get the country straightened out. I know that I live in the best country in the world, but sometimes I feel like we vote for third graders to go to Washington, because they all act like children and all have their own priorities to tend to while they are there.

Anyways, I am not sure that either party honestly has an electable nominee for the general election.

Clinton and Richardson are electable in a general election. Now Clinton has to overcome the curse of being a Senator.

I think the Democrats will win unless the Republicans nominate a moderate who can distance himself from Bush and the establishment. Giuliani is the only guy that fits that mold right now.

Sen. Clinton will likely take the nomination. She is a moderate, and her voting record shows it. She steadily keeps gaining support as the weeks go by, and she is starting to seem highly electable. Long way to go in this race, but the Republicans have become so despised it will be hard to lose to them come Nov. '08.

EDIT: Well, we'll have to agree to disagree. I've liked Sen. Clinton for a very long time and part of the reason why is because I am a moderate myself and recognize one of my own. I was very much like her when young, very liberal and almost a radical. But people grow up and mature when they get out of college, and her policital views have matured quite nicely. Sen. Clinton doesn't "play" at anything. We could theorize that any candidate will switch their gears when they get into office. In the meantime we have to vote for someone we believe is the best candidate, and for me, that's Sen. Clinton.

would it be nice to have a presidential selection process rather than have to pick from the group presented to us by a bunch of politicians who are already bought and sold by special interests.. like if we had everybody put into groups of 10 or 20 adults and every group pick a representative and 20 representatives got together and chose a person and then the 30 or so most qualified persons nation wide got into run off elections,,, every contestant would have to be tested and have to have certain qualifying features.. like sanity and an IQ above 60 ..
.. The democrats will never select anyone I would vote for,, since I am a Pro-life Christian.

No. Neither will the Republicans. The "Republicrats" have created a monopoly which has put a stranglehold on our political system. Until we break that hold by voting in independent candidates, neither major party will provide us with good choices. We will be saddled with the party candidates whose loyalties are to their party and their campaign contributors - not the people. -RKO- 07/08/07

Well, I didn't think there was a chance in hell that anyone would think that Bush was president material. Look what happened!

I have discovered that anything can happen, and anyone can end up president. I don't try to analyze it; I just cast my vote in November.

Clinton/Richardson will win the election hands down. I know because there are conservative Republicans that are supporting Clinton.

There is no way the Democrats could lose after what George Bush has done to the Republican base.
