I've been traveling the last week for work and will be traveling again the next week and a half for work...I've got a caged rabbit that I was going to give to my friend's stepson as a birthday present (they'd said it was okay).
I asked my friend (she's one of my closest friends) if they wouldn't mind watching the rabbit while I was away on business if I provided all the food and bedding and what not for it. They said it was fine.
I was back from Friday until tomorrow at home, my friend had said that they'd just keep the rabbit so I didn't think anything of it. Tonight, at 10:30 I find out that my friend's husband has thrown a fit because he doesn't want to keep the rabbit. I didn't know what to do since I can't take it with me and it's too late to do anything about it....so my friend said not to worry about it (I went and got it more food, etc) that they'd take care of it.
Is it wrong of me to be upset with the husband? I have done a LOT for him (loaned $, babysat, etc)???

Yeah, the rabbit's at their house and they're the ones that agreed to take it full time. I don't know what his problem was but he should have come to me about it to begin with (I heard all of this from his wife, my friend). I really appriciate your answers!!!! Keep 'em coming! :)

No, I don't think it's wrong for you to be upset. Especially if you've done a lot for them, its not like you are taking advantage of them. Besides, not like taking care of a rabbit is so hard, especially when you provide everything!

Is the friends that's watching the rabbit the same friends whose son you are going to give the rabbit to? If not why not give the rabbit to him a little early?
Did the friend that is watching the rabbit tell her husband what was going on or did he just come home to find a rabbit. Maybe he's upset because maybe he is the one feeding and taking care of the rabbit. Maybe before you get upset you find out why the husband has a problem with the rabbit being there. Maybe there is more to it then you know.

I can't quite tell if the friends who agreed to watch the rabbit are different from the friends who are going to permenantly take the rabbit.
Either way, if the couple agreed to watch the rabbit in your absence, they have an obliagtion to follow through with that, and if they fail to do that you absolutely have a right to be mad at them.
If your friend didn't consult her husband on her decision to watch it, then really the burden to find a solution should fall on her shoulders as she should have talked to him first, and if that's the case, you really should be more upset with her than him.

Maybe the husband is jealous cuz the rabbit eats better than he does. Also jealous that the rabbit gets lucky a lot more doing what rabbits do best. "Multiply"

Sounds like he has bigger issues than just the rabbit... I wouldn't worry about it, as long as he's nice to your face and the next time they need a favour you do it as sweetly as anything and don't complain!

no, it is not wrong at all for you to be mad at the husband. since you have done all kinds of nice things for them, the least he could have done was return the favor. i would have been mad too. i hope everything turns out ok. good luck.
