I know "some like it hot!" but, why do you think MM has become a legend? She may end up being the most memorable of all Hollywood stars. Just what is it that MM had that drew people to her, and why do they seem obsessed with her, even in death?

Marilyn Monroe was one of the first platinum blond sex pots. She posed nude for Playboy in the 50s and had several nude pinups, which was unheard of in the 50s. She was curvy and voluptuous and just radiated sex. Her acting was good and she was always scripted to be this dumb blonde that any man would want. Her wit and ability to be a total goof ball and yet still remain so sincere and soo beautiful was a talent no other actress could imitate, in my opinion. Just think of it, she is still the topic of conversation even now.
Most importantly, she was a very tragic character in real life. Her ill fated romances and her off screen troubles made her a legend in her time. But her death at a young age, her affair with you know who, her charisma, and her beauty will forever make her a legend and a star.

She's been dead for over forty years, and she's still an obsession. You have to understand what was going on then. She was married to one of the greatest Yankees of all time...Joe DiMaggio. She was beautiful, talented, and even intelligent in her business dealings. She married one of the greatest playwrites of all time. She was the first Playboy centerfold She was intimately involved with President Kennedy and Bobby Kennedy. She was part of "Camelot" and all that went along with it. She was a fantasy that you could touch and talk to. And her tragic death sealed the deal.
Her last movie with Clark Gable, The Misfits, was one of the most anticipated films of all time. Clark Gable, the handsome heart throb, and Marilyn, the fantasy of men and women worldwide. They would both be dead within a year or so. Marilyn went from "Artichoke Fair Queen" in Salinas, to the most dynamic movie star in history. She brought us all up. And she brought us all down.
