I got a centrino duo which is a intel dual core processor and i got F.E.A.R. just recently and the game runs ok not as fast as i would like. So i decided to check if the game was running on both cores because i know the rest of my games don't, and what i saw was only one core active and the other core basically doing nothing. I checked the cpu affinity but they were both set on for F.E.A.R.. I see all these cpu game test sites running these dual cores on fear and they have amazing results yet i have the game running on one core!!!! Please Help!!

How do you get F.E.A.R. to run on a dual core processor?

Well um i got a Intel mobile 945 gm integrated graphics, 1 gig of ram,and the dual core runns at 1.73 ghz each and it is a laptop. I thought F.E.A.R. had been built on the dual core system but im not sure.

If the game itself is not written in multi-threaded fashion to take advantage of dual-cores, then having a dual-core processor doesn't affect performance. In fact most games don't benefit from dual-cores.

If you're just wondering about the overall performance, most F.E.A.R benchmarks are done with very high-end video cards.

Since you're talking about Centrino then I assume you're running on a notebook- what type of graphics adapter does your notebook have? If your graphics chipset isn't at least a GeForce Go or Mobility Radeon of some sort, there's your problem.

Love FEAR

Never run it on a dual core so I'll make a quick guess and it may be fun to try, know I would

Go to game settings and MAX everything out.
I do this on my pentium 4 3gig with 2 gig ram and get no problems
Also have ati 512 mb video card to a 42in widescreen HDTV

Go to this site for some good ideas a lot to read but great stuff

Try FEAR Extraction Point if you can
