In the past few days my laptop has started to send what feel like little electrical currents into my fingers whenever I touch the keys or mouse pad area. I do not think it is a "grounding" issue because it happens even when the laptop is running solely on the battery. Is it possible somehow some other sort of damage to the computer could have caused this? Any insight would help, thanks

I shy away from thinking that it is static electricity because it isn't just a momentary sort of shocking sensation, but more of a consistent sensation of an almost small electrical current type feeling, what could this mean, if it in fact is not static electricty?

That is static electricity for sure.

Although I have to say that laptop shouldn't behaves that way. A good laptop should be functioning without harming its user in any way.

Why don't you call the service center and report this problem. There may be some hardware issues which we may not know.
