When try to take off fast off the line my tires spin and my opponent just takes off fast! Of course by the time I finally get going I can useally catch up, but I want to have cleaner starts.

Is it just a matter of NOT smashing the gas down so hard and getting up to speed gradually?

Or is there a part I can buy that will help me get better traction??

Details... I drive a 2003 Mustang GT with an automatic trans, I have brand new racing tires that are top of the line....Goodyear something they cost $1200 for 4 tires. Alos I got the wider tires so more tire is on the pavement.

How are cars that have more horsepower taking off fast without spinning the tires and I cant???

Softer tires. Generally those that claim they last longer are because they are harder rubber and get less traction. If you go wider and harder you really create problems. A standard width tire for your vehicle and as soft of rubber as you can get would be best because of the weight to footprint size ratio. If you go wider you need to go stickyer.

First you probably have a tire meant for road racing more that straight line performance. Simple tricks, warm up the tires and reduce the air pressure.................ALOT. Top fuel dragsters only run about 6 psi in there drag slicks. On my old drag car I ran about 10 to 15 psi in my BFG street drags. Hope this helps

Wow, you actually attempt to RACE an automatic transmission car??? That is so sad. That's part of your problem, because manual transmissions are much better for racing.
