If you contact the post office to let them know that you want the carrier to leave a PS3849 in your mailbox and to NOT deliver the parcel ther should not be a problem, unless...
your letter carrier does not deliver parcels. In some cities large parcels are delivered by a separate driver who would not know of your requests.
But by contacting the PO and letting them know that your apartment building/complex has had a problem with stolen items, they should let every carrier know not to leave parcels to that address.
I hope this helps.

You can have the packages delivered to your office (or a friend's office) - that's what everyone I know does. I think you would have to pay to get mail at the ups store, and the post office won't hold your mail unless it is sent special delivery, which again, would cost you additional delivery charges.

Yeah...that is a Federal Offense. Getting a P.O. Box would be an inconvient solution so I like the suggestion of speaking with your mail carrier about the problem. They might have to hold your mail for you to pick up..also another inconvient suggestion.

Absolutely. It should not be a problem. Simply visit the post office and fill out a form requesting they hold your packages until you pick them up. Also, communicate this verbally as well as in written form. Be sure to document the date and who you spoke to. This should resolve the problem without too much further complication.

God bless.

Visit your post office. They will talk to your carrier and advise him/her of the situation and arrange a safe place to leave the box (neighbor maybe). Also report the theft each and every time. It is a federal crime.
