there are many reasons for this, the most common is because we are tired during times we need to be awake, such as work. For many of us it because we don't sleep well when we are supposed to. Also we tend to have too many things that need to be done. And then when we are in bed trying to get our needed sleep, we are thinking about everything we need to do the next day. The average person of today tries to behave like super humans but we are not. We usually don't realize this until we have health issues and a doctor tells us to slow down and get more sleep.

I'm in my dream season at the moment (meaning I dream more around this time of year than I usually do). Due to current personal circumstances most of my recent dreams have been bad. Not awful exactly, just not particularly nice. I'm fighting sleep tonight because I haven't exactly had a great day, so I'm trying to prolong the dreams as much as possible.

Because when one is a Long Term Single Parent, the SOLE INCOME Supporting their Family, their children are disabled, they have a violent sociopathic ex from a short disaster of a marriage, a very STRESSFUL career ... and yes, NO HELP ...
Then own their own homes, have to do all that work, and VOLUNTEER when their children participate in events and activities ...
Have to deal with the TEEN AGE Years of their children -- the angst, the angry outbursts and defiant teens, the disrespect from their children and abuse (of the parent) by the child ...
YES, we FIGHT SLEEP -- we are TOO STRESSED to SLEEP!!!!!!!

- 'cause there are things I want to get done
- 'cause there is nothing to look forward to the next day
- 'cause the peace & quiet of the night is nice
don't get me wrong, I love to sleep - those are just some reasons I sometimes don't want to go to sleep.

Cause, there is to much distraction && our minds don't stop thinking of things we could do.
Like sometimes i sit there in bed && go.
Mhmm..i wonder if my friend emailed me back.
or if my boyfriend is online.
Or did i get a best answer.
Our minds can't resist what our mind desires.
