I think it will be the best experience, (ex Navy) but with hubby, you wont see each other a lot. If you can deal with that, then you should go for it!

I joined the Air Force when I was 19, and other than marring my wife it's been the best decision I've ever made in my life. I love my job, love the people I work with, and love to serve my country. I can honestly say that in my 15 years of service I've only had a small number of days where I hated my job (less than 20) I've seen parts of the world that I never would have seen had it not been for the Air Force (So far I've been sent to 4 Continents, 18 Countries, and 27 States) I'd highly recommend the Air Force to any young person just starting out in life as a great way to get their feet on the ground in the adult world. There are too many benefits to even list on here for a young married couple, but if you want to hear about them, I'd be happy to e-mail you and share some more.

If you still think of yourself as a girl then you are not Air Force material. Women join the service.

If joining the AF is what YOU want to do, you're doing it for the RIGHT reasons, you're willing to make the familial, emotional, and mental sacrifices necessary, are willing and able to commit at least 4-6 years of your life to a very rigid organization, and you have the support of your husband and family, then by all means, join.

I joined at 21 and still am in. I love it, but I think that you have to have the right state of mind. You really need to realize what your getting into... and don't trust the recruiters, they actually lie...amazing considering the AF core values (what we live by) are: Integrity first, Service before self, and Excellence in all that we do. I hope you do though, we need good, strong women. Luck to you! Basic was a blast (for me)!

Why not?...it's a great future, it'll pay for college so when you get out you can have a good career, you'll have health insurance, it'll keep you in shape...so i say why not?...i think it's a great idea as long as your hubby is ok with it, becasue i'm sure you'll have to go to basic training and other schools and be gone quit a bit so this is something you both need to talk about and discuss.

That personal decision is up to you and your spouse. However, given the current situation in the world, I would not join any of the armed services Not because of lack of patriotism, but because of the greed and lack of concern for the soldiers on the part of this current administration.

No. The armed forces need good people. But you need to stay home with your hubby. If you planned to go to the armed forces why did you marry?
