wow sounds like her school really stepped up a notch on school dress code

well my opinion, take her shopping.and tell her she has limit on how much she can spend [$10,$50 etc.] or get her a gift card to one of her favorite stores, make sure you're with her just in case she gets something that applies to the code which could get her in trouble.

That's really up to her a lot, I mean her personal style. But the layered look is in, so maybe some of her old clothes could be worn with new ones and "repurposed". Like, if she has any tank tops, especially spaghetti strap ones, you can buy her some of those t-shirts that are a little thinner and have the cap sleeves. It doesn't even always matter on the color, as long as they're both solid colors. Then wear the new shirt under the tanks. This looks good with a cute pair of capri pants. Shorts will be really hard to find, as most of them on the market will be too short. They just don't make them very long anymore. So capris will be a good alternative for when it's still warm out. And you won't even have to worry about the length. Instead of flip-flops, wear them with a great sandal, or even tennis shoes. Just coordinate colors. p.s. the school should not have a problem with the tanks being worn over something else. my school had the same dress code hers just adopted, and they're main concern was not having girls walking around with anything hanging out.

She has many options right now since there are so many style variations. Even if she cannot wear leggings, she can still wear opaque tights (black, red or navy) under her skirts. She could wear those preppy looking skirts with the pleats, mid calf knicker or gaucho pants, or knee length Bermuda shorts over dark tights. There are layer tops that come with the sweater and shirt already sewn on and those look great. If she can wear jeans, those always look good paired with a nice cotton shirt or sweater, nothing with her belly exposed. I also see many young girls layering those little cotton T-shirts over another longer tee or tank top of a different color. It looks interesting and they are covered up. As for shoes, espadrilles and ballet type styles are in right now. Sneakers are never out of style. If you're in a cool climate, she should be able to wear boots in the Fall.

Ok wow thats a little too strict. Well I don't have pictures or anything but here's my suggestion...

buy some....

-knee length jean shorts
-cap sleave shirts
-sandels that are girly but have straps around ankles etc. (i think this would be ok)
-button up shirts (blouses, sorry for spelling)
-cute belts
-skirts that floats away from the body, around knee length, with a pattern that she can match with multiple tops
-Basic t-shirts, depending on her size they could be fitted or something like that
-Loose knee length gym shorts
-Runners that are maturer if she can fit them
-ankle socks

Thing like these you can get at a place like walmart if you want it cheaper. I'd say for her age don't buy things too expensive unless she insists on having a certain thing from a certain store.

Just try to fit her personality aswell as the dress code.
Example

If she's girly buy some skirts, more shaped things, classier because she's getting older

If she's sporty more shorts and loose clothes things she doesn't have to worry about getting dirtly and good runners, not too cheap ones.

best bet is to look through sales ads that way you have an idea of what they are selling in the stores you plan on shopping at. also wait until end of july when all the fall clothes start coming out. most of the clothes that are in stores now are summer clothes and will probably not fit the dress code.

1] TOPS: semi-fitted Ts [ she's still growing! ], blouses, tunics, polos, etc.
Later: long sleeve Ts, long sleeve button shirts, henleys.
2] BOTTOMS: bermudas, capris, board shorts?, skirts,
jeans and some nice slacks, at least one summer [ eyelet, lace,or crochet ] and one winter [ velvet, cord, wool ] jacket.
3] SHOES: ballet flats, leather sandals, sneakers, slip-ons
Measure her bust, waist, and hips; allow a little growing room [ except shoes and bras - those should always fit properly ]Check: [ research sizes, then check outlet or sale items ]
