Its high school, trust me, life does not end when u leave there, it starts... High school is BS and Drama, screw them... you HAVE to follow your dreams... this is right now, what about the rest of your life???
that is whats important... not them, not following your dreams will make you miserable...
Trust me, follow your dreams, do what makes you happy... there will always be people who don't like you, who say things about you... that just means they are jealous, have no life, and spend enough of that time worrying about what you do, because they have nothing better to do...
You DO however, your a great author... KEEP WRITING!!!

Whether or not you are popular has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not you can/will realize your dreams and/or be successful as an Author ... or a Plumber, a Security Guard or a Physician ....... You can do, any thing that you want to do. All that is necessary is for you to understand that fact, believe it, believe in yourself, then prepare/learn all you can about what it is that you want to do, and then, just do it ...... and if you fall on your face, get up and try again, and again, and again until you succeed. Success isn't just making a lot of Money. Primarily, it is being happy at what you are doing. Next, is making a difference. To paraphrase Teddy Roosevelt; Credit Doesn't Go To The Fellow Who Sits On The Sidelines and Gripes or Tries To Run Something, Rather It Goes To The Man On The Field Who Tries and Fails and Tries Again ... So be unpopular, so what??? Is anybody else paying your bills??? The way TR said it was ever more eloquent, but, you get the idea ... in ten years you won't even remember anybody that you know now, and none of what they think even matters ... Not now, Not then ... Just write. Learn the correct mechanics of writing, but let your own style develop in it's own time ... Not everyone can be a Hemingway, but then Hemingway was not the only great writer ... And, NEVER throw away anything that you write. Even if you spill coffee on it, let it dry and save it ....... The first renderings of Pablo Picasso became very important in his later life, even tho' he didn't always cover all the numbers .......

The chances of your writing a book (at your age), that will be bought by a publishing house and widely published are pretty slim. I am NOT saying this to discourage you in any way- I think wanting to be a writer is a great plan. It's just that most people don't get published right off the bat- look at J.K. Rowling- her first Harry Potter manuscript was declined a bunch of times. Your writing will get more varied and more interesting as you mature, and will have a more diverse readership than anything you were to write at your present age. I would take as many creative writing classes as I could now and in college. Stick with your dream, submit your stories to your school paper or yearly literature magazine (if your school does that), local papers, magazines, etc., etc. Best of luck, and here's a bit of advice- don't worry about what other people think of you- just be yourself.

Holy Crap, man. That is insane. Letting "popular kids" ruin your dream? "popular kids" are rotten carcasses. DON'T EVER let them make you miserable. You are better than they are. And about that other kid wanting to be an author too? WHO CARES? When you grow up and write your own book, they'll forget all about you. It doesn't matter that he wants to be an author too. I know a ton of kids at my school who want to be authors, and it's not like we compete against each other or anything. FORGET THEM, LIVE YOUR LIFE.

Simple answer? Get published. Then donate a copy to the library. Not much they can say about that and the Principal will make you a local hero. No one can pass up the idea that a local student gets some success while they attend your school! Living well is the best revenge!
By the way, if you think this is impossible, check out Chris Paolini's story, the author of Eragon and Eldest!

If you are in high school and all the cool people hate you, that is a good start for a writer. You will learn careful observation and analysis of human traits and situations. Whether you stop pursuing your dream of being a writer has very little to do with those people. Writers who write enough and do it well enough to be published do so because they have to, not because they want to. That's the test.

Talent is not a popularity contest.
Some of the world's most interesting artists have been social outcasts.
In literature, especially, what other people think is irrelevant.
Write, write, write and try not to get bitter about not being popular. You need to speak honestly, that means not candy coating things but not dissolving into bitterness. Just focus on honesty and integrity, write a lot and the rest will fall into place.

Never give up on your dream! If you are good at writing and want to do it, write a book and ASTOUND them! Just think about all the great authors out there. Like Jk ROwling or mark twain. If they never wrote the books they did we would have really missed out! If you turn out to be one of these great authors you can tell the press who your bully was and whoa! All your fans will hunt them down for you! GO out there and write!!!!

follow your dream and do not worry about the other kid who wants to be an author. Who cares if the 'cool' people like you or not?? Once out of school, many cool people turn out to be not so cool after all.

Do yourself a favor and stop worrying if this kid and all the "cool" people will hate you. Both you and this other kid could find yourselves being printed. Or it could be that you're the better author. Just keep your dream and see what happens. Maybe nothing will come of it, maybe you'll find yourself being published.
