Second Hand Lion
I personally thought the movie was a great example of crossing of movie genres. I mean the flashbacks of the stories the two old men told added action, while the mixture of the boys careless mom, her loser boyfriend and the death of the boys pet lion were sad, and to top it off, the ironically funny twists put into the movie made it funny. And better yet, the movie was pretty darn clean, which makes it a great for the family.

This movie was worth-watching. The characters are well-drawn and sympathetic. Just as young Walter gets to know his great uncles (Michael Caine and Robert Duvall), we are introduced to this pair of "Secondhand Lions". Just as Walter learns to trust these two eccentric strangers after a lifetime of lies from his untrustworthy mother, we are allowed to learn the lessons of life in pace with him.

I do believe that that movie is either, "The Man From Snowy River", or, "Return to Snowy River". Don't quote me on that though. The first, "The Man From Snowy River" came out (I believe, in 1982, and the sequel, "Return to Snowy River", came out in 1985 (for sure on this one, I remember the copyright date on that one, and they were always a year later than the release date in those days (that was, until 1995 when the advent of DVD's combined the cost-effectiveness of 3.5nm laser burning technology (traditional CD's had used 8nm) with the ability to quickly manufacture them due to no reels or tape cases (though this had been accomplished (sort of) prior in 1980 with the laser disc, the damn things were just plain unweildly, large as a LP record and worse to care for)))
