Because it's a computer-generated violation notice. One size fits all, and I guess they expect you to do your own pokin' around on the Community Guidelines page, although...
I didn't see anything about kicking cats. Musta missed that one.
If you sincerely believe that you were sent a violation in error, click the link in the email and protest it. I did. That will involve a human, and a human judgement can be made. If it's not a true violation, the judgement will be rescinded and your question will be re-posted.

Because the violations are not from a warm blooded human. It's an automatic response from their main frame. You must have used one of the key no no words that signal a response, or you may have bashed a vindictive jerk and they turned you in unjustly! This is one of the problems we just have to live with here. I've been turned in several times, once was probably deserved, lol. Too many and you get suspended or deleted and start all over again.

The answerer to your question appears on the emailing. From there you have to put two and two together. If you feel you were wrongfully violated, challenge it. More than likely you will get an apology like I did.

Maybe your violations aren't good enough to be worth discussing. Be a go-getter, use a string of obscenities so long and so bad that they need to create a new entry to the dictionary to define it. Be so inappropriate that Jerry Springer has to wash his eyes out with soap just for looking at it. You can do it, I believe in you!!!

Lodge a complaint to Yahoo and tell them to stop harassing you with non-specific violations. It's unjust. =)

They never do tell you anything except you violated a rule. It is our job to know these things even though we don't have a clue. Don't request a reason, you'll never get one.

They usually give the answer/question back to you so you know what they are referring to, although that's not enough sometimes. I know what I did for my last one, called a guy a D!ck Head LOL

The never are! I think they just send a standard form letter, and not really check it out!
I have tried to rebutt them but it has never worked!
