It seems to come from the liberals since they lost their power. They can only bash everything they don't believe in. The news media with their lies have half the population convinced things are worse now than they ever were.

I dont think its hate so much as it's frustration and disillusionment. We are in a war that is killing and wounding our military servicemen and women by the hundreds, yet there doesn't seem to be a decent way to get out of it. The fact that we got into this war under false pretenses doesn't help our national conscience.
The democrats blame the republicans, the republicans call the democrats "cut and runners." We are no longer just americans. We are now either left or right, republican or democrat, liberals or fundamentilist christians. There doesn't seem to be room for a middle ground. Most of us want a middle ground, but the politicians aren't providing that middle ground, which adds to the frustration we are feeling.
As a military spouse, I feel frustrated because Iraq is depleating our military resources to the point of breaking. Yet the consequences of us pulling out, for the Iraqis and the middle east at large are extremely frightening.
Iraq is no longer the only thing that is making us feel frustrated. Our legislators are no longer listening to us. Over 65% wanted the immigration legislation to pass, yet it failed. The majority of the population feel the Bush administration should comply with the subpeonas, yet they refuse. Nobody feels congress should get a raise, but they did. Most everyone wants the Iraq war funded, but wants the tax cuts repealed, but they aren't listent to that either.
If you have an opinion these days that is neither left or right, but somewhere in the middle, you have no where to go. We feel deflated, frustrated, and tired.

An astute observation.
The Democrat Party was captured many years ago by Socialist. They do not want America to be at war with anyone for any reason . . . UNLESS the Commander and Chief is a Democrat (Remember Bill Clinton and Serbia?). That was OK because he could use that war as a diversion from his domestic problems (Monica, et al). The media drives American attitudes on political subject and they always (85% of the time) lean toward the Democrats.
However, even the Democrats could not stand the heat if they once again (Remember Vietnam) bashed the military efforts of our President and his troops. So, after 9/11 they got "on board", but they didn't like it.
The press in America is 85% Liberal Democrat in their leanings, so they too were against America fighting to defend itself.
The Americans with whom I associate are patriots (no Democrats allowed) and we have not lost our fire for winning this war and killing the enemy. I do, however, think GWB is a very weak leader, in the LBJ mold. He has done exactly what that Vietnam mauler did; he hired an account to tell military men how to win a war. It was stupid when LBJ hired McNamara and it was just as dumb when Bush turned over winning the war to Rumsfeld. But hey, what do you expect? He went to Yale. Couldn't get into Texas A&M's Corps. where they teach you HOW to WIN a war.
America, as a Nation, is in trouble because we will not fight to win. I am sorry I voted for Bush three times. There seemed no other choice.

On 9/11, I would have enlisted if they'd take me. I stood in line for 5 hours to give blood that was eventually thrown away because of the number of donors.
We had the whole world on our side then. No one really protested our attack on Afghanistan.
Then the Project for the New American Century people: Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Wofowitz, et. al began their false propaganda campaign against Iraq. Sure, Saddam was an absolute tyrant, but he was no threat to the rest of us. We "cooked" the intelligence, just like we did prior to our involvement in the Vietnam War. The vote to go to war in Iraq has so many parallels to the Tonkin Gulf Resolution, it's not funny
I've said before, and I'll repeat:: We have not engaged in a justifiable war since WWII. People say that we don't have the will to win a war. I say "Bulls**t" If we were in a war that really mattered, we would win or die.

Up until 9/11 we had small things to worry about in comparison, since then our world has changed, we felt fear. Fear is a great divider when you are on different sides of an issue, How ever it's not all bad it did bring us together for a short while.
Plus their are those on both sides who are benefiting from all this division, politicians.

I don't think it is so much hate as it is being self absorbed with your own problems. 9/11 forced you to forget about your problems and realize that your own problems are pretty insignificant to loss of life and real disasters. Actually, I liked NYC much better immediately after 9/11. People were more courteous, less cars honking, everyone more willing to go out of their way for you. Now, people forgot those feelings associated with those horrors and are back to being focused on their own personal problems.

A parable:
Would it make any sense at all, if some crazy small group of fanatics killed a few of my family members, and I retaliated by driving to the closest town and started killing everybody I saw?
Please compare this to the 911 tragedy & the present day Iraqi war!
Your President has successfully divided the country up by declaring," you're either for us or against us," when he declared war on Iraq.

I am still flying my flag, and I rigged up lights so I can fly it 24 hours a day. I dont know if its the whole antibush people, or the liberals that want us to fail in Iraq. I kinda think it was a fad. it was cool at the time and it wore out.

I agree with you. I tried to bring folks to the negotiation table, it didn't work.
We are very divided. I hope Americans realized that:
United We Stand.
Divided We Fall.
Edit: Dear delphi, what did i say you didn't like?
I apologize any way.

Two things are holding our nation down from truly being “The Greatest Country on Earth”.
1. Politics
2. Religion
Although, they are both the same thing in the long run...
