Hi sweetie,

You can certainly do both. It doesn't matter what you have faith in as long as you have faith. Most christian based religions have their roots in the pagan rites of old. And remember that King James had the Bible changed to say what he wanted it to. The part that says suffer not a witch to live, actually said suffer not a poisoner to live. It was part of the catholics way of forcing everyone to join their viewpoints.

If you want to practice an earth based or magical practice, then go right ahead, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

You are your own person and can do as you choose. remeber God forgives where as everyone else judges. Some people just need to open up their tiny closed minds and accept that their are other views and that one isnt any better than another. Live and let live.

Sweetie you do what your heart tells you, no one else.

Very contentious question. You're likely to get answers all over the map.

In a rough categorization:

exclusivists would say "no" - There is no other name under heaven by which you can be saved ...

inclusivists would say that as long as you don't already know Christ, you're fine believing in something else, but no, you can't be a Christian and a believer in something else at the same time.

pluralist Christians, like me by the way, would say that you can be a believer in Christ and still derive religious meaning from other traditions; a pairing I frequently hear of is Christian-Buddhist. I don't know enough about magick to say if there would be a high level of compatibility.

Not from a Christian perspective, since the God of Abraham is a jealous God that demands that no other Gods be worshiped before him. However, historically, there is evidence that ancient Jews were polytheistic with Yahweh/Elohim at the top of the pantheon. (Elohim even had a consort!) However, with the theology and dogma that's evolved since Christianity's debut, it's difficult to be eclectic.

However, from a Pagan perspective, you can partake in other religious paths without qualm. There are many people that define themselves as Christo-Pagans or as a Jewitch. I've also heard of people who are Buddhist-Christians as well. I guess you could belong to a non-theistic religion with Christianity, since you won't be worshiping another God. I think Taoism would work too.

It's just going to be hard for you to belong to a church body and agree with their doctrine. I'm sure you would fit comfortably in a Universal Unitarian church ot the Universal Life Church, or even Ba-hai!

Yes, you can.

What you can't do is tout a fundamentalist line. However what those people choose to ignore is that Christ himself was a mystic. And mystics are fundamental in early to mid Christianity.

Wanna watch them really get in an uproar? Point out that prayer and magick are the same thing. You'll get reported for that one but it's perfectly true. You're using concentration and focus to appeal to the "bigger" things than you. That's prayer in a nutshell.

More and more people these days are realizing that their path lies in a hybrid of religion and spirituality and that organized religion has it wrong.

If the magick and rituatl you're performing is dedicated to your God, your Savior and your Holy Spirit, then what more is needed?

Blessings to you. The path you are considering is more solitary than some are comfortable with, however the rewards can be great as well.

Of course it is:

Some guy called TROY just said " You either believe in God or you don't"

So the Jews believe in the SAME God as Christians doi so why can't you believe in Judaeism and Christianity. The leader chosen by Christians was Jesus Christ who was NEVER a Christian himself. He was a Jew at birth and died a Jew.

Many other religions believe in God. Most of them even have as their motto: Do unto others !

As long as each human realizes that there is an architect of the universe who created EVERYTHING he /she can then live the best lives they know how.

No, you cannot. God says that he is a jealous God, that you cannot have any Gods before Him, and that it would be better to be hot or cold than to be lukewarm.
I see you have gotten a lot of opinions referring to "what others think". It really doesn't matter what others think. What matters is your relationship with God and what God thinks--what is going to count is when you stand before Him on judgment day and you have to answer for what you have done in your life. I, or no one else can tell you what to do--the decision is yours, but--so are the consequences. I would get into the Bible and research what I should do before picking up another religion.

For what it is worth the Christian religion was consolidated using many different religions of the day. In 489 the "laws" were rewritten to suit those in command at the time.

The base of the Christian religion is Jewish as were all the folks in the Bible.

All religions began with the current Wicca (pagan) and added from there. So why not dabble in more then one?

Yes it is entirely possible to be a Christian and have an earth based religion. God created the earth. And yes some forms of magick ar acceptable.

Many people incorporate saints into their rituals. Candle magick is the most popular. Divination is used in the Bible frequently. Think back to Joseph and Daniel. They had prophetic dreams. They also interpreted dreams. Would this not be a form of fortune telling?

What many people dont know is that when the Bible refers to witch craft it is actually refering to a poisoner (or one who does harm to others for money ect.) Dont by into that whole "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" bit. Do your homework... that is not the ACTUAL hebrew translation.

Oh and BTW everyone of an earth based religion loves this scripture...

Job 12:7-8

7 But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:

8 Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.

Short answer, yes.

Long answer...

Depends on your views you are embracing and how stricktly you follow the bible how far you cantake such things.

If you follow the bible closely you have to put good first in your life, before everything else, but there is nothing saying you can't beleave in other things... so long as god is #1 in your life...

If your not ... then it don't mater realy.... I kinda throw the bible aside realy... you can take or leave as much as you life of christanity and what ever other religions you find make sence

Christianity, through the form of Jesus is THE truth, and THE only way. (John 14:6).
Why would you want to add magic or anything else of the sort in there?
God works in powerful, REAL ways. The Spiritual realm isn't something to be messed with, and if you get involved in magic, you start messing with that. You invite all kinds of demonic presences into your life, your home, and your famiy. (it sounds like there's already some there that these questions are coming up.)
I suggest talking to a trusted pastor or friend who will be patient with you and is a strong, long-time Christian, and staying away from people who tell you that it's ok to practice other religions alongside Christianity.
