The good news is that anyone listing themselves as an agent has to be certified.
But, the bad news is, posting a communication like this does two things:
#1 It opens the doors to a bunch of "managers" contacting you and scamming you, and
#2 It really shows how green you are. (Now, this is the place to get educated to not be so green. So it's better to learn here, eh?) But, acting is a competitive world. Agents don't go knocking on your door because you say your serious. It's quite the opposite. They want to know how hard you knock on their door to show how serious you are.

Because your 17 you will need to have some parental things in place too. Are they supportive? Are they willing to sign a contract on your behalf?

This is what I recommend. Get some really great headshots that communicate your casting. Put together a resume that shows your experience and training.

Put together a letter of what you are going for with an agent. Get your parents to also write a letter saying that they are supportive and willing to sign a contract on your behalf. Go to Sammual French in your area (that is a bookstore that specializes in this part of the entertainment industry). They publish a little booklet every few months of all the agencies in NY and LA. They will also list out if they take union and non-union talent.

Send out packages to every agency on that list until you have yourself an agent.

Promote yourself like mad even though you have an agent.

Get work that will land you into AFTRA and SAG. And continue promoting.

This will get you on the right path.

If you are serious about finding an agent and you are already in NYC, the best thing to do is to get involved with a staged/public reading of a new play. Playwrights are always looking for attractive, good actors to help showcase their work.
Agents are usually invited to these functions, or they show up, thinking that even if they don't like the play, they may find some talent.
You can also send notices to several agents, giving them the info on the reading.
Check out Backstage, there should be a listing for readings. Some actually pay a little something as well.

Dude, if you're serious about acting...you can't be serious about this. You're not even in the right galaxy! You are asking to get scammed. And you'll give THEM a shot? THEY hold all the cards not you. You talked about your looks.
What is your training like? THAT'S how you impress 'em. There are tons of good looking people. You need to be a good actor. No matter what you may think, the ONLY way to get to be one is to take professional classes. My guess is you haven't but you're trying to start working anyway. The competition has trained and if you haven't you haven't got a chance even if by some miracle you do get an agent and an audition. BTW the agent does not get you auditions. They submit you for them and the casting director decides who they want to see. Without some strong credentials it will not be you. If you're serious slow down and do things right.

SweetiePie, Honey Bunch, why isn't OneSource finding you a TALENT AGENT, if they are so legitimate?!!!!

You are going about it the wrong way.

A Talent Agent does not work that way. Find your own auditions. keep your resume.

Hon, if you don't know how to locate an Agent you are NOT ready to work as an actor.

I recommend that you find an acting class. Try: HB Studio downtown. - also the Actors Studio. Also, go to actorsconnection.com You can audition for Casting Directors and Talent Agents, but, I'm sure you already know that, don't you?

Find an agent yourself.

Everyone does their own "homework," in reference to finding an agent. If you don't know how/where to find one, ask your acting teacher.

You can also go to the Actors Connetion in NYC (Manhattan) agents do workshops there and often find talent at workshops. ActorsConnection.com

I got a booking through a Casting Director I met at Actors Connection in NYC.

If you're in no mood for playing games, then you need to get off the computer and find an agent in real life.

How do you know anyone on the internet is legit? You don't.

If you are serious about this, then get some heat shots and find an agent.

Study some good actors out there. from today and back in the day. this is the best start. then let the agency and college do the rest.
