I agree with you but it doesnt much matter what you and I and even the media say since the administration is going to wait this out as long as they can ( although I do believe they will BEGIN withdrawing some troops) until the next election end of next year. What a huge mistake the attack was ( I refuse to call it a war since it was a pre emptive attack on a sovereign nation for which I am ashamed. The U S has not begun yet to feel the repercussions or payback

The war won't end if we pullout. American lives will not be saved if we pull out. We shouldn't have gone in the first place, but we can't leave Iraq in the mess it's in.
People are losing hope because the media plays the casualty numbers constantly and scenes of the daily bombings (many of which don't target Americans).
We lost 53,000 Americans between 1950-1953 protecting South Korea from China. We'll lose more than 3,600 Americans before the war on terror is over.....

The new york times isn't even journalism...it is just a liberally biased compilation of anti-republican ranting that some Americans choose to buy.
NYT isn't even a credible source. If we pull out and lose this war, terrorists all over the world will see that they can win wars and then they will feel unstoppable. Pray that day never comes.

this is what we get for not finishing the job in Afghanistan and going to Iraq where there was no need for us to waste so much money and lives. And for the person who thinks the NYT is liberal, you should read newspapers around the globe, the Times is not "liberal," unless you only compare to FOX news and the Wall Street Journal. If you want "liberal," as you call it, read the Guardian.

Lot of GOP senators, some important ones are starting to change sides, changing their views. The article is triggered by such change in political climate. It's not NYT trying to be some type of prophet.

Yes. I agree with the NYT and we should offer the Islamic terrorists our unconditional surrender.
They may scrap the Constitution and implement Sharia law across the country, they may veil our women and instruct our children in the ways of their moon god cult as we, the men of the once proud and free USA, crawl on our bellies to lick the boots of our conquerers to appease their wrath.
