in my tank i have a pear of convict fish my tank is made up of rocks and a big clay pot and the bottom is just sand but the male is allways in the pot and seems to b diging and moveing the sand to an other part of the tank. the female just hides in the rocks and some times she will *** over to the pot and go in they seem to get on well can any one tell me wat is going on

Sounds like you'll be getting eggs soon. Just watch the inside of the pot - they sometimes stick them on the sides or roof so you may not notice them at first.

And you don't need to remove the parents - they provide parental care for the young, although an inexperienced pair, or ones that haven't been conditioned by feeding them well before spawning may eat the fry the first few times.

They are getting ready to breed. The male is preparing the breeding site so you should see breding activity in the nest few days to a week. You need to get ready to raise the fry now.

Sounds like they are mating or setting up house at least to mate soon. You may have to remove the male once there is evidence of pregnancy.
