How isn't important- but due to someone else's mistake I found out that a friend of mine is throwing me a 'surprise' party. So far only one other person knows that I know (and that person is attending the party as well). But what should I do? Fake surprise, or find some way to let the party planner know that the party is no longer a secret? If I should tell her, then how? I don't want to fake in front of my friends (especially if they should find out the truth later), but I know the planner would be crushed that all her hard work went to waste.

Pretend you don't know act surprised. Go in front of the mirror practice a believable surprised face not one of those "oh wow for me" faces that look oh so fake. You don't want someone to feel bad that you found out early and they did all their hard work for nothing. So fake surprised and then have a great time at your party which I'm sure you'll enjoy even if it's not a big surprise.

Tell your friend who knows you know to keep her mouth shut. Everyone, particularly the planner, will be sooo disappointed if they find out. Practice faking it and do a good job at the party. Don't plan on telling anyone later either, keep it to yourself and have a great time.

Well, if it were me, I would "fake" being surprised because if my friends went through the trouble of planning a surprise party, I would want them to feel good for all of their hard work. It's kinda like getting a present. However, if you do this and they found out that you knew, then I would explain to them that, "Oh yeah, I knew, but since you went through all of that trouble to plan something like this, I didn't want you to feel that all of your hard work was wasted and that I really appreciated it!"

Don't ruin anyone's surprise. Stand in front of the mirror & practice looking surprised. It's okay to act as though you didn't know about it.

It may be against your character, but for the sake of the others and for their fun, pretend you don't know about it.
