actually there is more than one horcrux left...there are six horcruxes altogether && Harry && Dumbledore already destroyed 2 of them (Tom Riddle's diary && Marvolo Gaunt's ring) the other possible horcruxes are Salazar Slytherin's locket, Helga Hufflepuff's cup, something belonging to either Godric Gryffindor or Rowena Ravenclaw, or the snake (Nagini)

that doesn't make sence at all...sorry. there are at least 4 horcruxes left. think it through next time. how could voldemort have acquired the triwizard cup before even killing the potters 16 years ago? it was locked in the ministry because the triwizard tournament was no longer in play. the locket is im sure either in grimmauld place, or pillaged from mundunges and sold to someone else. Sirius can not be a horcrux, the evidence and common sense against it is so obvious it would be painful and boring to explain it now. the diary and ring have already been destroyed. jkr and dumbledore said the 2 relics of gryffendore are safe (the sword and the sording hat.) this is what i think the horcruxes are: marvalos ring, tom riddles diary, hufflepuffs cup, slytherins locket, ravenclaws tiara/wand (?) and either harry potter himself or something new...

1) Quirrell- Why would Voldemort be so careless with his life then?
2) The Diary- Well at least your not TOTALLY wrong.
3) You cant think of one because there isnt one!
4) Tri-Wizard Cup- That was a portkey and wasnt destroy sorry.
5) Sirius- Why would Voldemort let Bella kill one of his own horcruxes?
6)The locket- This could be but we arent even sure that the real locket is destroyed.
7)Yea we dont know what is left for book seven but what we do no is that u are HIGHLY MISTAKEN and u should probably try not to think to hard on this and waste your time.

i don't think Quirrel could be a horcrux and have voldemort just throw him away so disregardingly. And Why would Sirius be one? how would Voldemort get his soul in there? Besides, by time he met Sirius and Quirell he already had 7 horcruxes. The diary was 50 yrs. old. i've heard an interesting rumor about the seventh book though that says Harry's scar could accidentally be the last horcrux? That would definitely be interesting huh. Voldemort knows what all of his horcruxes are because he made them on purpose but that one could have been on accident.

You missed Marvolo's ring. The Tri-Wizard Cup was a portkey, not a horcrux. Quirrel and Sirius were both to dangerous to use, as all living beings are, due to the fact they could die from various causes and would thus take the part of Voldemort's soul into death with him. Not something he'd risk. Not to mention Voldemort met Qurriel at a time when it would have been difficult for him to make a horcrux and Sirius was someone he'd have been more likely to kill.

That can't be it, for various reasons, one of them being you left out the ring. Another is that Quirrel CAN'T be a horcrux, Voldemort sort of possessed him, and then left him, so that isn't possible at all. And triwizard cup isn't a horcrux, and wasn't even destroyed. Sirius isn't a horcrux, or the death eaters wouldn't have killed him. Voldemort would have come up with a reason to just capture him, he can't afford to lose horcruxes.

Okay, I have thought about the whole "7 books, 7 horcruxes" but that's because there are 7 years of Hogwarts, therefore, there are 7 books.
Honestly, I have to completely disagree with you on your theory. I agree that you didn't think it through because you left out the ring. And after reading the 6th book, I am quite sure that Dumbledores guessing is absolutely correct.

did you not read the books. 4 of the horcruxes were items from the four houses. you only mentioned the locket. where is the ring dumbledore destroyed in "The Half Blood Prince." The one that destroyed his hand. No dude you didn't think before you asked this question, or you haven't read the books. In either case you just showed us all that your not too bright.

Known horcruxes:
Ring and Locket of slytherin. Cup from Husselpuff. The book, Voldemorts snake, something of ravenclaw which I forget and something unknown of griffendor.

umm there are 6 horcruxes and 7 pieces of soul one piece remains on Voldy... and Sirius wasnt a horcrux b/c Belatrix killed him and Voldy wouldve been mad..... the locket wasnt destroyed at least we think.... the triwizard cup wasnt one that was just the thing that transfered Harry to Voldy... Quirrel was just someone he was living inside and he didnt have power to make Quirrell one anyways

Wrong theory.

But I still think that Harry himself is the final horcrux. He'll have to sacrifice himself to ensure Voldenmort cannot return yet again.
