im 17 years old i live in nashville teneessee and i make 11 dollars a hour. do you think i can afford to live on my own making 11 dollars a hour i dont plain on going to college, i plain on staying at my current job for while i can make up to 20 a hour at my current job but that will take a couple of year

You are making about $1900 per month gross. Go check out what rent at an apartment you would like to live is going for.

If it's more than about $500 / month - then probably not.

That's the general rule - don't spend more than 25% of your gross wages on housing.

It would depend on the hours you work. If you work the usual 8-5 on business days you would be very close with your budget.

try to get more hours at your job before you move out atleast 35 to 40 hrs a week. moving out of your parents is going to be hard but there are always alternatives, find a roommate or find a girlfriend to move in so they or her can pay half of everything.
