Yes; I think to some extent it does give oneself a sense of fulfillment. And, God's holy Word does say, "He who doesn't work, doesn't eat." (Makes sense huh, since without funds, how are you going to provide for yourself with things like food and clothes). Also, work is a result of the curse in the early chapters of Genesis, so yeah it is unpleasant at times, but I feel there is a motivation beyond and above that unpleasantness that keeps us going, and helps us to do that work, even if we don't like to do it. For example, self preservation, fulfillment, or taking care of others such as family. Thank you for reading this. And, God Bless You. :)

It's like Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Work too much, and you get burnout. Work too little and it's boring. But if it's just enough work to be busy but not too crazy, I love it. Now if only I could change my hours to be noon to 9 pm....

Most of the time, yes. It not only provides me with a way to be independent, but it helps me define who I am, provides structure to my day and makes me feel necessary. There are days I'd rather jam redhot needles deep into my eye sockets than work, but - we all have them, don't we?
Better than sitting under a bridge every day drinking cheap wine with my pet rat, Izzy, at least.

I can't say I really liked work, but I did enjoy the structure it imposed on my life.
