depends on the situation, like if you were a villan in a story, and the hero looses a battle their loss would be the villans gain. here's a perfect example for "loss from someones gain": okay, a young adult walks into a bookstore, they were just paid the night before. she buys two books that eqaul 9.oo and a book mark that costs 5.oo together the bookstore owner be hind the cunter and states to the child your total is 14.oo and the child pulls out their wallet, all they have is what they were paid the following night, so in the begining let's say she started out with 35.oo and the book store cost's was 14.oo, now thaat person lost 14.oo out of her gain (35.oo) which was her pay. or it could be the store owner, They lost two books and a bookmark, and that person gained such. so I'd have to say... gain from someones loss, not wanting to sound evil or anything.

we all participate in this see-saw situation, whether we like it or not.

one student gets the scholarship because another student didn't make the grade...

one worker gets the promotion because the other worker didn't perform as well...

so i would rather gain from someone elses loss. and it's not malicious of me to want that.

I would have to say gain, because that would be something positive out of something negative, which makes it a plus!

Take all you can, give nothing back. Do unto others before others can do unto you, then split. If it isn't tacked down it is yours. If it can be pried loose it wasn't tacked down.

Tell Internal Revenue you'd rather not pay taxes, then see what happens to you.
