so what are your favorite perks of being a swimmer? for me, its gotta be seeing hot guys in speedos on a daily basis, getting your period a maximum of three times a year(basically just during taper time, hahah) and always having an excuse to turn down dates cause everyone knows you swim and its a huge committment!!! the hardcore body is also a bonus!

For me it's the exercise. There is no other thing you can do that uses every part of your body like swimming.

Well to start with 3 times a year really isn't good at all, and only during taper? You really need to get that checked out if you haven't already.

Getting back on track I eat a lot in season so that kind of makes me happy, when I'm out of season I eat less but I still gain weight. I'm not overweight or anything but I don't really like to push my luck here.

With swimming I also meet a lot of new people. I would never have done an English project without the kids on the swim team and I probably wouldn't have done that without them (I'm also a YouTube star thanks to them, yea 78 hits!)

Swimming also just gives me something to do. Some days I'll just be really bored and so swimming will actually give me a good use of my time for something constructive. I know I should be swimming now but things are kind of crazy and finding me rides to places even as simple as the movies is tough enough.

I'm 25 now, I started swimming at 14. I'm gay, back then I was just starting to like guys. I went there one time, and I just wanted to back after looking at the swim team iun speedos.
I fell in love with swimming by the age of 15 when I realized swimming made my body all muscular.

So the perks are:
-seeing guys in speedos.
-getting in shaoe.

I am 43 years old and I have been a swimmer/ weightlifter since I was 13. I look better than any 20 year old that I know, and get hit on by girls half my age. i owe it all to my to my commitment to swim everyday, and lift 5 days a week. if I don't swim everyday I get cranky and don't feel right if I miss a day. Looking at the girls at my club is a plus too.

Eating!!! I can eat anything, anytime without gaining an ounce. Score!!!

Also,
- Being able to kick my non-swimmer friend's butts when we race
- Being able to coach and get paid well due to all of my experience
- Being able to teach and get paid well due to all of my experience
- Having a swimmer's edge in triathlon which prevents me from losing miserbly on the bike and run
- Having an excuse to go bathing suit shopping
- Having an acute understandingof the body fat/muscle ratio

Awesome question!!!
