Um, well I go out a lot with my friends, and I like to go to shows, like at the local places. And I like to shop at Hot Topic. So how do you think a 13 year old girl should dress? (remember, a 13 year old is not a baby)

I am not goth or anything. I don't even wear a lot of black! But Hot Topic has some cool clothes, it's not ALL goth.

A 13 year old can dress cute, but still be appropriate. A 13 yr old may not be baby, but is by no means an adult, or even young adult in my opinion. Don't try to grow up too fast.

I am 14, and I, too, shop at Hot Topic. So you know. You just need to know what to look for.

The simpler, the better. If you wear jeans, a cute top, a necklace, and flip flops, that pretty much takes up most of the days right there. You could also get some cute dresses that come down to about 2 inches above your knee or longer. That way you are covered up, but still are cute and comfortable.

Tops:
single colored t-shirts
band shirts [hot topic rules in this area]
wife beaters
camis

anything basically.

=]
hope this helped a little bit.

i get what you're saying about not being goth. i love hot topic, and my style isn't emo, goth, or even skater. it's more funky, artsy, cool. it's a unique style that no one else has. i'll shop at hot topic and then go into american eagle.

it's totally random.

Definitely Hot Topic, I've been shopping there since I was 12. It's a great store with a lot cool tees and tops. Also buy acessories there. Also buy things from Wet Seal and Forever, they have sort of them same style, just with a bit more color. H&M is sort of like an adult, European mod version of Wet Seal and Forever 21. It's still a good store if you can pull it off =] But try not to buy things at Abercrombie, it's just to wannabe-ish and expensive. Brands you should buy from should be Roxy, Junk Food, Billabong, and Hot Kiss.

Hope this helps =]

I'm a TX mom, and my daughter is grown now, though she shops at the Gap, American Eagle, j. crew, among others. We are very casual here, so several good pair of jeans are needed. Our rule about jeans was that they were too tight if you can see the indentations between the buns. Boot cut is good, low rider or super low is fine, so long as you're not showing your backside every time you bend over. No lycra ever ever.

For shirts, the girls like camisoles with spaghetti straps here, and they let them peek out of the neckline of a v-neck t-shirt or tank.

Flip-flop mania! My daughter has at least 20 pair, esp the kind with fabric in between the toes instead of plastic or rubber. She has several pair of "chuckies?" too.

I know what 21 yo s wear for dress-up, but I'm not clear about 13 yo s, so I'm going to abstain on that one.

Did I help? Don't be too quick to grow up, and always dress in good taste. Skanky, hooker, too much eye makeup, completely ruin your look. You want to look fresh and natural. At least in TX you do.

I personally think that no one should wear clothes that are too revealing, or anythijng that shows tons of cleavage and tons of skin (I am 13 too.) Wear whatever you want, though! Everyone is different and that is why there are so many different styles! Pick the clothes that you like- don't listen to others or wear stuff just because it's "in style" but you don't like it. Wear what make s you feel good and comfortable.

well i just turned 14 the other day but 4 me my favorite things to wear are tanks cuz theyre cute and some can show off your body really well. its not slutty n if you wear them rite its give you attention & confidence

faded jeans are good too especially if they have some designs that go with other clothes
but dark blue/black jeans are great especially if theyre lined wit other colors like red or purple

4 me the best shoes are converse jordans and adidas

&& roxy and south pole has the best sweaters

some stuff maybe pricy but if you thinks its worth it, go for it

some last tips: ACCESSORIZE!! but dont go overboard
look for bracelets necklaces earings headband and belts but dont over do it. have a few of each so you have choices but dont wear everything you have

wear colors that match your skin tone
light: most colors are good but dont mix color tone (ie: either wear all light colors or all dark colors
tan:best colors are white brown/tan red and black but go for variety & try it out for youself
dark:bright colors work best but dont look like one of those signs on the side of the road

theres no exact way anyone SHOULD dress bcuz everyone has their own style
wear what ever makes you comfy and be yourself, make your own style and stick with it

Appropriately for your age...young teen. Not at all a baby, but definitely not an older teen or adult...in a number of years you will look back and see how very young you still were, we've all been there. (Heck, I can see now how young mentally I was still at 18, and 22 even! lol) Stick to whatever cute stuff that is geared toward young teens...but not stuff that is too adult for you yet, too much skin and trashy look is not good and probably too much of an invite to child predators in my opinion.

No, i do no longer think of you could experience undesirable. and what's wide-spread to a pair human beings is to no longer others. My semi formal costume became approximately $70. i does not spend $250 on any 8th grade dance costume. prom is an entire different situation, i'd spend over $2 hundred on my prom costume, yet it incredibly is comprehensible. i think of maximum 13/14 365 days olds purchase their 8th grade dance outfits for below $a hundred.

well, i am almost 12 and i dress however i want. 1 day i am wearing a mini skirt and a tank top, the next day i am wearing dark makeup and skinny jeans. 13 year olds should be able to dress however they want. whatever they feel comfortable in. does this have something to do with your parents not liking the way you dress ? if so, remind them that you are not a baby and that you are reaching a stage in your life where you need to express yourself, and a good way is in dressing. i hope i helped
