I'm thinking of getting my hubby an XM radio for his work van. He only has a radio right now. Occasionally, he needs to take another van. I was wondering if it is possible to do a temporary or very easy install that would make it easy to take out of the van should he need to switch or get a new van. I searched online with little luck so far. Anyone have any ideas?

I think the problem is not the radio but the antenna that mounts on the van. I don't see how a moveable antenna would work. They look like they need the vehicle to be drilled to get the antenna mounted. If not or if you can get a satellite antenna with one of those magnetic mounts it would be a great gift.

Removing a XM radio receiver from one car to another is not a problem. Each XM radio receiver comes with a dashboard car kit for the receiver to be place inside the car. You can always move this from one car to another.

The problem is the magnetic antenna that need to be placed on the roof of the car van wired to the receiver unit. If he is driving from one car to another than removing this would be a a hassle. You can always buy a extra car antenna as a extra accessory for the xm radio receiver. When you buy a xm radio receiver it comes with only one magnetic antenna and a dashboard car kit.

well if you already have an XM then you will see its easy if not just get the roady or whatever its called meant for cars. all you have to do is connect the antenna to like the rear view mirror or something metal cause the antenna is magnetic, then just plug in the car charger power thing into the XM radio and there ya go.
