A Dell Precision 390 would do the trick for you. For another 50 dollars you can get Vista Ultimate (worth it if you want encrpytion, ect.. built in) and make sure you get 20 inch wide screen and the 250GB hard drive. Other than that, if you don't already have the Adobe software, I think they sell it...if not, just order it online from a retailer. You should be able to get that setup for about 1100 dollars shipped. A Mac won't cut it in a lawyer's office...you're working in an office that requires you to have access to specific software and compatibility with your previous data. Just get what you know and what you're comfortable with. Vista isn't the devil like the purists keep saying. Everyone gets uncomfortable with change. Even XP has its faults.

Vista is your first problem. It is not very user-friendly and has many other "well I used to be able to's" with it. I am a Computer IT at a hospital and could not recommend anything but a Mac Book Pro laptop. Extremely easy to use and has all the software on it right out of the box. Apple is dominating Microsoft in every aspect right now. Apples do not even need anti-virus! They rarely have hardware issues also and even if they do, they are much easier to deal with than Microsoft.
Do NOT cringe at the thought of using a MAC .. try one, one time and you will see why you need to go Apple. 11yrs of experience from me. I am on my 1st year with a MAC and will never look back. Good Luck! :)

a million) it incredibly is a Dell...perhaps. 2) particular, in spite of the incontrovertible fact which you will elect an adapter plug if your computer screen isn't digital. 3) The licenses that comprise it. The OS and classes are possibly set-up as a employer workstation, which will advise a touch different "experience". in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, provided that it became set-up with VHP incredibly of VB or VU ability that some "employer" purposes would be lacking. So, once you're desirous to run a employer, no it is not likely a stable deal. (in spite of the incontrovertible fact which you will "improve" to employer or appropriate with the help of ability of the Microsoft website, and the value isn't that steep.) i comprehend that a similar workstation right here in Canada (in particular via 1Tbpersistent) would value almost $1000 in spite of everything, I had understood that Vista nevertheless hadn't been authorized for distribution interior the ecu/united kingdom via privateness and different concerns that hadn't been yet addressed completely yet. stable success!

Truth be told you would be getting ripped off getting a dell. A good company to consider is Carbonfrost Systems. I can speak from experience when I say they have the best warranty and service. They will literally build it to whatever you want while keeping the price low. They have computers in all price ranges so you should be able to find one. But fact is that they use better parts and their service/warranty is a lot better than dell while it will be 300-400 bucks cheaper too.

Why Dell. If you want it to have Windows vista then why don't you get a HP. If I was you I would not get Dell or something with windows vista and I would get a mac.
