Hedonist philosophers are kind of funny, but they are onto something. See the Movie "This is Spinal Tap" when the interviewer asks the drummer his philosphy? He says some like, "Have lots of fun, now." That would be a full life, for sure, but pure hedonism is not exactly a responsible way of being, either, among other problems. Following one's bliss seems abit simplistic. Even Joe Campbell had to mow the lawn, pay taxes, etc.... I doubt it was all bliss following all the time. I mean, seriously, wouldn't that mean that the average joe should start a beer tasting service and start a porn website? :) Follow Dave Bliss. He's had a great coaching career until that nasty Baylor incident. Ok. Don't follow Dave Bliss.

Decide what is actually your dream. Then magnify it by 10. Really. Dream more than you think is possible. Now, start a journal, with "Day One" being the description of the dream and the magnification of it.
On day two, plan your life in 5 year segments. What will you accomplish towards your dream in each 5 years?
Day three you turn off the TV, sell it, cancel the cable service and make a list of the things that you use to distract you from your purpose. Remove any that are a serious threat to your goals.
Day four you do what it is you have to do next to accomplish your goals -enroll in college classes, research business licenses, apply for grants to get started- what ever it is you need to do.
The rest of the days: you've kicked off your adventure, expect obstacles. Just as a speeding train encounters wind resistance, so will you in moving toward your goal. Don't shrink from it. Obstacles and resistance are not your enemy, but instead are your friend. They prove your abilities, where you need to build strength, and are also proof that you are going the right direction. There is no wind resistance when the train slows down. Believe.

Decide what you want out of life first and once you decide, never give up on it. Goals are important to keeping up your motivation to go on, even if they take forever to achieve; without goals, a person becomes frustrated and directionless. That's when life is truly wasted.
Everyday being packed with life's best is not likely, but if you know what you want, the bad days and jerks you meet along the way mean absolutely nothing.

I asked that question here a month ago, and I started doing charity work, things to help out humanity because I thought for a second if I were to die I want to know that this world will miss out on me. I also now work with adults who have autism and down syndrome. I've started to exercise regularly to gain more energy, everytime I look around I try to smile at everyone around me, even though you might be lighting up their day, it also helps improve your mood. Be more productive, learn about the world, help at every chance you get

FOLLOW YOUR BLISS.
p.s. Don't go translating that at face value...seek the deeper meaning.
I'd suggest reading Joseph Campbell's thoughts on 'following your bliss' or watching his interviews with Bill Moyers on DVD if your library can get you that series...wonderful philosophies of life in that series ( The Power of Myth)
Dr Wayne Dyer is another take on similar philosophical standpoints who is well worth familiarizing yourself with.
Enjoy your journey!!!!!!

Rules to live by, help others ...
Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.

well, what a question! depends on what you've always dreamed of... right? Do something that you wouldn't normally do (just avoid any injuries that may make it your true last day on earth!) take time for yourself, and plan out what you want to do, or instead of planning it, just wing at it! do what you want to do! let loose!

Hi indigochic101,
Knock the door of your heart and listen to your soul ....what does it say.
Do what you listned, because heart and soul will never misguide you.
It is the nasty BRAIN of the man and the bloody logics that deviate human mind from GOOD to BAD and that play with feelings...
