I'm not a gamer but I do download music sometimes (not a lot).
I can get this laptop with XP which is very, very hard to find nowadays.

If you don't know what all this "stuff" is, you don't need it. Why don't you start off with a basic laptop. After you know your way around, you can upgrade.
I picked up a Toshiba laptop for $399 after rebates, with a free printer. 80G hard drive, 512 RAM, Vista Home. Suits me fine. I don't do games and keep startup to a minimum, also, set wallpaper and screensaver to blank. This frees up memory. I do not intend to download music or movies. If that is your intent, you may want more memory - and a cable connection.

you have 3 options: one million. the best thank you to repair it your self. and then fix it. 2. purchase a clean workstation. 3. Take the workstation to a greater community place and ask them. Dell fees a fortune. they are able to discover a visual demonstrate unit that may not a Dell which will artwork. Used aspects will value much less. I artwork on desktops, yet you may might desire to deliver it to me, pay for the maintenance, then i might deliver it decrease back. It relies upon on which dell workstation it isn't any remember if or no longer I somewhat have a visual demonstrate unit for it.

For a Dell machine, that is about average price. You might see a better deal from them once in a while for this type of machine, but probably not until later in the year.

Dells are some of the worst ones to buy, they lock you out of everything and getting upgrades are even harder.
Their support sucks.
Get a ASUS, Sony, ABS, Toshiba

No. Do not get a Dell. Their computers are horrible and their customer service is the worst. Instead, you should get a Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092.

yeah, that's an awesome laptop! it really all depends on your needs. are you a gamer? then get high ram and video card. are you a music/video person? then get higher processing. right now you got the whole package. this is the kind of laptop i'm looking for when i buy one this summer for college.
