my really close friend asked my if she was prettier than her sister. she wasnt, so i told her her sis was prettier(she asked me to be brutally honest and spare her feelings). thenn she asked me what i'd give her on a scale of 1-10. i told her a 4.5. (she told me to be BRYTALLY honest!!!!!). i was 100% honest, and now i dont think she likes me very much. she told me to be brutally honest and spare her feelings, and i did exactly that, but she doesnt like it. we're super close friends, but did she want me to lie but pretend im telling the truth? cuz i would've wanted someone i could trust to give me good advice and honesty, no matter how much it hurt. did i do the right thing, or was i too blunt? i did tell her i think shes very pretty. and now she's giving me the "cold shoulder." what'd i do wrong?

That's her problem. You were brutally honest with her just like she asked. Tell her that you wouldn't be a friend if you weren't honest to her. That's about all that you can do. Don't go to her anymore, leave her alone and let her come to you. The ball is in her court now.
Don't drive yourself nuts over it. Rest assured that you've done all that you can do.

You didn't do anything wrong, she asked a question she was not prepared to handle the answer to. That is on her. I always tell people "do not ask the question if you can't handle the answer." I tend to be pretty blunt myself, so I know how you feel. Talk to her, gently remind her that she did ask you to be totally honest, and ask her to be more careful next time she asks you to be so honest. A real friend will understand where you are coming from and things will be OK again.

You didnt do anything wrong. She asked u what u thought and u told her the truth. If shes your real friend she'll cool off and just be glad that you told her the truth. I had a similar ordeal with my BFF. So.. I know what ur going through.

When someone asks u a question like that, tell them you both are equal. Its ok, you were honest but that is also honest right? Good luck

never answer a emotional question by lieing or giving a answer that just sounds good a best friend is just that a person to ask a question to and not worry if your answer is right or unfair

She asked for the truth, but she didn't really want it. She wanted someone to stroke her ego and when you didn't, she was disappointed and turned against you.
You did what you needed to, but lost a friend. Sorry.
