I usually just take the battery out when i'm not using it, then when I do use it I let it run out fully before I charge it up again. Is this the best way??

I use mine on AC when home and leave it plugged in, but here is another idea:

Disable things that you dont need (Wireless cards can be big power hogs, even when no in use).
