I have already started to dilate. I went to the doctor thursday (it is sunday) I was dilated to almost a 2 and i am 60% effaced. I have been hurting really bad in my lower pelvic area like in between my legs and my hips have been hurting me. I was wondering if this means i will go into labor soon. I have contractions but they are not close together or anything like that.

Could be labor, you said you are contracting, so time them and let your doctor know how far apart they are and he will tell you what you need to do, as to when to head to the hospital.

Good Luck!

I have those same pains too, there nasty. I jus try to find the best possible positions to stay in to help keep the pressure off of my pelvis. Try laying on your side and lean your body forward to help the baby move forward to possibly keep pressure off but there really isnt much you can do. These arent contractions if there not coming from your uterus. Its the baby's head putting all that pressure there causing the pain and since the baby is so low on you then your feeling more pain then usual.

Could be early labor. Call your dr, and remember there's no shame in going to the hospital and being told to go back home--better to know for sure than to deliver at home!

Congrat's and good luck.

It's different for each woman, but, to me, that's how my labor felt with some pain in the lower abdomen that feels like bad menstruation cramping.

It means that your body is preparing for labor and like everyone else at this stage of pregnancy (myself included) you get to enjoy being extremely uncomfortable. Have fun and good luck!
