No Maam, I don't remember my first falling off experience, but I remember my scariest one. I was going really fast on the sidewalk (something I shouldn't have been doing) when a van pulled up from a cross street and stopped right in front of me. I didn't have time to stop, or even swerve, so rather than slam into the side of the van, I laid the bike down on its side and slid partway under the van.

I immediately started shouting at the driver, "Don't Move! Don't Move!" as I tried to untangle myself from the bike and get my legs out from under the van. The driver got out and dragged me away and, other than a little road rash, I was fine. Scared the beejeezus outta me! I never rode on sidewalks again after that!

Yes! I was just telling my kids about it yesterday- I had a new 3 speed bike but it was too big and I couldn't reach the ground. Plus I'd never used hand breaks before- yeah, a recipe for disaster! I got on and started to ride and took the corner too sharp, but panicked and couldn't stop so I ran full speed into a parked car and just sailed across the hood!

It was a while before I tried again!

My girl friend and I took a ride around the block while no one was watching and she hit a speed bump to fast and I popped off of that bike and landed really hard on my ****. I had major bruising and It was real hard to explain to my mom when I came home. She didnt believe my story about falling down that was 30 some yrs ago. Still hurts. lol It was a motorcycle.

Its still a point of comedy with my parents...Dad was holding on to the back of my bike while practicing in my yard...I kept saying, "dad, don't let go!" and he said, "OK, I won't!"and he did...my yard had a HUGE hill down the front that ended in a ditch right before joining the road...to their telling, I just disappeared over the edge. I went flying, landed in the ditch and came up covered in nothing but mud...it was like a cartoon...I opened my eyes and that was all you could see that wasn't mud! I was SOOO mad and they couldn't stop laughing.

I didn't fall, I jumped. My parents took the bike back the next day. They decided that I really didn't want to learn to ride it.
