Don W - I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but WAR is the answer. Without armies fighting wars there would be anarchy. It's nice you think that it is "outmoded" but nobody has found a way to replace the nation state with an army prepared to defend her sovereignty as the preeminent legal authority upon which all of our institutions and laws are founded.
Some predictions did come true, some didn't, and some were so short lived that we didn't really benefit by them. Generally nobody can make accurate predictions about war because you are in a life and death struggle with a thinking and adapting adversary.

This war is going to take a lengthy amount of time. Did not Bush ask the American people for a great amount of patience? Have you run out of it? Pretty fast, if you have. This is a hard war. More difficult than even the American Civil War. We are going up against a people who will kill anything that moves, and don't even have a care, if it is their brother, or child whom they murder. The US soldier's give a damn about LIFE, so are more careful in their actions. Our men and women in uniform, are trying to save the damn world from terrorism, at the cost of their own lives, but no one, except most Republicans seem to give a load about that, or the armies fighting in our stead.

War is never a correct answer to any question. War is an outdated and outmoded concept bolstered by right wing propaganda. Violent conflict fills the pockets of war profiteers at the expense of humanity with the cost of innocent lives. Further investigation and evaluation will show and PROVE the majority of conflicts today are based on fundamental religious superstitions. More investigation will show the underlying causes of MOST wars in history have been the same. These right wing perpetrators of false doctrine and antediluvian dogmatic concepts try to deceive the youth of today in glorifying turmoil and then step back in feigned amazement and hide behind a facade of amazement at the increases in violent crimes.

Well let me see.
We said we would overthrow Saddam. He's out of power.
We said we would make Saddam accountable for his crimes. He's ben tried, convicted, sentenced and hung for them.
We said we were going to give the Iraqi's the right to choose their own leaders. They've dwarfed the percentage of the population of all Westernized countries that turned out to vote (often of 70%) all while facing death squads, car bombs, suicide bombers, terrorists and threats.
We said we were going to train Iraqi Security Forces to take over their country. Today many provences are in control of the ISF. Including most of Northern Iraq and areas the Brits just pulled out of.
We said we were going to help rebuild Iraq's infrastructure. Today we have built countless schools, waste management plants, rehauled electrical and water facillities and continue to do so on a daily basis.
Should I go on? I believe the rule for disproving absolute statements is one example, I've given five.
