There will either be a screw on the middle of the crank's wide part or there will be a "C" clip just behind the wide, flat part of the crank. It will be behind the door panel, so you have to push the panel back a little to expose it. Getting it off without a special tool takes a little work, but you can do it. Just watch where it goes because it will spring off and jump to who knows where. good luck.

You need to go to the auto store and buy a window handle wrench which costs about $3.00 and slips underneath the crank, twist the wrench counter clock wise a half a turn and then it pulls off. Replace the same way.

See instructions with pictures here:

Take note of pictures 6 and 7. In picture 7, you can actually see the clip that is holding the window crank in place. You basically need to move the c-clip to remove the crank.

you can either go by the tool for $5.00 or take an old rag and slide it in between the handle and spacer and slide it away from the handle crank knob. this will grab the clip and pull it out. try not to loose it and when you put it back in aim the open end towards the crank knob

I think if you push your side panel in right at the crank you should be able to see a clip. Pop it off with a screwdriver. Watch it close, it might fly somewhere and you'll lose it.

Without actually seeing it can't help. However, I do know a site that has a lot of info for cavaliers, sunbirds and other j bodies.
