They absolutely could exist- its pretty simple why I think that- the amount of things that humanity does not know or understand is astounding.

I think it is unlikely that such a presumably large thing could exist without there being some difinitive information; such as good photos or clearly identifiable footprints that absolutely aren't simply a bear or some other large pawed animal.
